Dynamic Lyrics for Mac › Guides

Apple Music lyrics on your Mac, everywhere you look.

The Music app on your Mac shows time-synced lyrics for millions of songs. Here's how to find them, make them bigger, and keep them in view while you use other apps.

View lyrics in the Music app

  1. Open the Music app and play a song.
  2. Click the Lyrics button (a speech bubble) near the top-right corner of the window.
  3. Lyrics open in a sidebar and highlight in time with the song. Click any line to jump to it.

Full screen and MiniPlayer lyrics

For a bigger view, choose Window › Full Screen Player, then click the Lyrics button. For a small window, choose Window › MiniPlayer and click its Lyrics button. To keep the MiniPlayer above other windows, open Music › Settings › Advanced and turn on the option to keep it on top.

Both are good, but each covers a sizeable part of the screen, and neither follows Spotify if you use both services.

Apple Music lyrics outside the Music app

Dynamic Lyrics for Mac follows the Music app automatically, and Spotify too, switching to whichever is playing:

When the Music app asks whether Dynamic Lyrics can control it, choose OK. That permission lets it read the current song and power its play, pause and skip buttons.

Free download. Works on any Mac with macOS 14.6 or later.
